I need photography help! I went & bought (a few years ago) the latest & the greatest - it's still pretty good & rates pretty high among digital cameras - and Kiersten became interested in it - so because I didn't want her to mess up my camera - I bought her one of her own for Christmas - it was a "nice" one as they go - a cheap one - 6 megapixels - $80 - it seems to have all the bells & whistles that my $700 camera has! BUT - here's what she does with hers:
the corner of our back yard -
The grapevine
the summer desert weeds
the last rose of summer
Brynn eating
And the quality of pictures *I* take:
No, I'm not jealous of her - I just SOOO want to be a good picture taker - I guess I'll have to settle for being a good typer?

Take a picture of a rose and put it up against hers... an outside picture can't be compared with an inside picture.
I have been thinking about this ... I think she is looking for photos that please the eye and you are looking for situations that please your heart. Or some other practical purpose. Both can be good photography. They're just different.
I agree that Kiersten has a good talent there, though! Maybe a marketable one!
