I start my journey with probably the easiest recipe...My dear friend Kris has this highly dangerous recipe for caramel which is, well, you just have to make it to understand the effects it can have on your hiney...she shared the recipe with me last year with the following warning "Be careful, this tends to skip the mouth and go straight to the hips" so - - with that warning, I share her caramel recipe!
Heat the following to 260 degrees:
1 3/4 cups Karo Syrup
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
while still on the heat, add:
2 cups of room temperature heavy whipping cream and heat to 260 (hard ball stage)
remove from heat and add:
1 teaspoon vanilla
mix well and pour onto buttered cookie sheet.
Once mixture cools, apply directly to hips.
OKAY - so I did that last night - and this morning I decided to dip some of them in chocolate. This is a fairly easy recipe - and even easier to apply the chocolate - directions for that include - cutting the caramel, and dipping it in melted almond bark chocolate - it works best when you eat every-other one...
My agenda for the rest of the day includes sitting on the couch regretting all the sugar I consumed for the day - and daydreaming of all the things I should be doing, but can't because the sugar high has left me nauseated and tired...or maybe that's the baby? You never can tell....

(don't mind me, I'm licking the screen)
Oh man, I so need to go buy some whipping cream and make these. It's just not fair for you to dangle them in front of my face like this. However, if we make them now, they will be gone by Christmas and we will have to make more. We usually end up with two or three pans a year anyway, and we don't even share them! Oh no, we eat them ALL ourselves! That's we can barely fit through the door.
awesome...if I weren't dieting successfully (at least the last 3 days, heh) I would totally rock these out. I have all the ingredients. Maybe I'll make them and then give them away, applying a few directly to my hips.
Also, just thought I'd let you know a funny: when I open my blog folder in my favorites, all of them open at once and stretch across my monitor, shortened, of course. Yours gets shortened to "Against the ass" Lol, thought that fitting.
Wow,
Thanks for the recipe, but could you just pack up the contents in the picture, and send it to Las Vegas. It would be much easier to eat yours then make my own, ad I know it would taste a lot better. Plus I doubt your very busy anyway. Seriously this is making my mouth water!!!! Good job!!!
Death by a sugar rush for sure! Yum! I would like to die no other way. :)
Yum! So now you're complaining about being able to actually keep something down? ;) At least it's a YUMMY something!!
Ugh, I hate that sick (I ate too much sugar feeling!!!)
You know, you are totally welcome to run some on over to my house! I'd hate to have to put all that energy into making them myself - that way I can make sure that it goes to my hips without being burned off at all!
BTW, I really wanna have an Oldies party - how is January looking for you?! I know that December is crazy for everyone.
crap! I made them with the intention of giving them to my neighbors, but read your directions wrong and added the cream after it had reached 260 degrees and after I'd taken it off the heat. I'm thinking they're not gonna set right, what do you think? I'm gonna have to go get more cream and butter if I want to try again. Drat!
