Top THAT!

Okay - Kiersten woke me up this morning asking me if I could do some laundry today. "Fine, what do you need?" "I need shirts" okay - so I guess I could do a load.

Here's the problem. I used to LOVE doing laundry. Especially after I went from my lowly 8 pounds of clothes washing machine to my triple capacity ultra duty front loader 24 pounds of clothes front load washer. I would merrily call up Ross and tell him "I'm doing laundry" as I sit in front of the window of the front load washing machine watching the clothes go around and around.

Well, we moved, as you know, and our laundry room is 2nd level. I guess that wouldn't be so bad, I mean, out of sight, out of mind, BUT apparently my fancy schmancy triple capacity ultra duty front load washing machine is not top floor rated. Meaning - the trusses between the first and second levels of this house act as a trampoline and every time the washing machine goes into spin cycle, the house bounces slightly off it's foundation.

So I avoid laundry.

But Kiersten needs shirts.

So I brought my two baskets of dirty clothes UP the stairs - which is something that a puky sick zero energy person should NEVER have to do - and started sorting.

The laundry room - well, here's how it's "normally" set up.

I have four stackable laundry baskets - and I sort clothes accordingly - whites in the top basket, under that one is pastelish type colors, you know, light blues, greens, some yellow's, you know - colors, the next one I have darks - reserved for mostly jeans, but dress socks go in there, too...and the bottom basket is all reddish flavored clothes - pink, red, orange, purple, you know...

SO I start to sort with what I have. Too many clothes - baskets are already all full...stuffed, in fact, like the laundry baskets just had a triple serving of thanksgiving dinner.

So I grabbed all my laundry hampers & decided to dump them out & use my hampers to help me in the sorting process.

I have officially finished sorting. Because of the amount of clothes in each basket, I furthered the sorting colors to be more specific. I now have the following FULL (meaning at least 24 pounds of dirty clothes in each basket) sorted loads prepared to take their ride on the trampoline machine...(talk about double agitation load, eh?!)

I have:

a yellow load
a green load
a dark green load
a light blue load
a dark blue load
2 jeans loads
a light brown load
a completely white load
a mostly white load (white shirts w/ colored collars/or dish towels that were once white)
a socks load
a PINK UNDERWEAR load (I know what you're thinking "how can she have 24 pounds of pink underwear?" - and well, let me just say that - well, not all of it's dry...and some of it is - well, deemed "last chance" as far as shouldn't go in a load with other clothes - so maybe I don't have 24 pounds of pink underwear, closer to maybe 20, but still - I'm using the "sanitary" cycle for that load!!)
I also have a
Light BLUE pastel load
a brown load
lets not discount the load of garments,
An orange load
a purple load
a tye die load (yah, welcome to the 70's!)
a red load
a beach towel load
AND last, but certainly not least, I have a basket full of mated socks and folded pants and shirts from the last stint of laundry I did, all found in the dirty clothes, but KNOWN TO ME to be clean. Just gone from the folded pile to the hamper in one swift move.

I also have 3 sheet loads and two rug loads (boys bathroom toilet - uh - muddy water overflowed - just know they snuck them in the dirty clothes without telling anyone)

I will not be done with laundry for a week - and that's just the stuff I have.

If I ran these loads back to back - with an average of an hour each load (it's slightly longer) I would be doing laundry for two days straight.

And whose going to fold all that?

I think after I wash it all, I'll just throw it back in their dirty clothes hampers & save them the trouble of having to put stuff away...

You are nuts. How come Kiersten doesn't do her own laundry? How come she doesn't do everyone's laundry? lol You're not feeling well, it's the perfect excuse!

You need to teach Rossi to do laundry. Then you would have a cook and a clothes washer :)
