I had to go to the doctor today. I realized my legs weren't shaved and I had taken a shower last night. I didn't want to get all wet just to shave the legs - not only that, I was running about 10 minutes late. Far be it for me to keep the doctor waiting - that's HIS job...
Anyway - I grabbed Ross' electric shaver and raced it up & down my legs. Then I tossed it on the bed & went to get dressed the rest of the way.
Howie noticed that Brynn started playing with it - and immediately became concerned for her well-being. When I told him it was okay - it wasn't sharp, he told me of a story that I had forgotten - from when he was 8 - yes EIGHT months old.
I was putting on my make-up getting ready for church - and Howie was getting into things (yep, he started YOUNG!) so I put him in Ross' sink on the vanity and let him go for whatever he could reach. Interestingly enough, he went for the electric shaver.
He knew that it was something that went on a face...because he had observed his father putting it on his own face. So as Howie figured out how to flip it on (yes, he's 8 months old here!) and placed it to his mouth...which all babies do - put things in their mouths. Of course, I didn't see any danger in this - but as he stuck his tongue out - the tripple headed electric razor did it's business - and howie pulled it away quickly showing little blood dots from the taste buds that had been cut! I couldn't believe it - he didn't cry - but he looked at his tongue in the mirror - and I felt like the worst mom in the world for allowing him to slice his tongue up like that.
So as Brynn grabbed the electric razor this afternoon, Howie told her - DON'T EVER PUT THAT IN YOUR MOUTH!!! Uh - he remembered this happening - he even told me the story of how the little red dots of blood ended up on his tongue. UN-BELIEVABLE!
So how good is YOUR memory? Any memories from when you were still in diapers or unable to talk? I think I was 3 at my first memory - but I can't be for sure, my mom had home movies that I watch, then helps the recall sometimes! I remember shaking a crib with my brother - he'd climb from his crib to mine - and shake shake shake the bars in my crib making our own personal earthquake. So I imagine I was under 2 years old?

Wow! That's incredible! I think most of my early memories are put in my brain from home movies, also!
One day while I was in the bathroom doing my hair, Easton was just sitting there watching me. A little while later I looked down and saw blood coming out of Easton's clenched fist. I opened up his fist and he had the top of his dads disposable razor. He had three slices from the three blades. He didn't cry, but I did.
